
My name is Roger Putzmann.
Starting my career in the German Army I went up to the rank of a Lieutenant (Oberleutnant). In 14 years of service I learned to focus on the important details to arrange work effective and efficient. Getting used to work under time pressure and difficult circumstances I had to find solutions to reach the given targets. Responsibility for the safety and the life of people was another aspect to get used to think forward and to calculate all possible problems in advance.
As a liaison officer attached to the American allied forces in Germany I had the possibility to learn about mentality, the way of living and the techniques of other countries.

In 1993 I changed my profession to sales. As a consultant and sales adviser for a German insurance company I developed finance programs for private customers and companies in respect of pension plans and real estate financing.
To improve my skills in sales, organisation and team leading I took over a job as a sales manager in car sales. With a small team I was responsible for the development of sales and customer relations.
During this time I noticed that e-commerce will be an important tool for companies in future. As a certified Development Consultant "ABAB Workbench" I learned about SAP business scenarios and processes in R3 components materials management and sales

In 2003 I got the possibility to do some jobs in East Africa. My first contract was the organisation of the maintenance of 4 Hotels of a Swiss company in Mombasa, Kenya.
After a while the owner noticed my army background and made me Senior Security manager, responsible for the operation of all security issues for 10 Hotels, 3 Safari lodges and a safari flight company.

The next step took me to Zanzibar, Tanzania. I was running 2 private islands with accommodation for 76 guests in the position of a General Manager.

My next contract brought me back to Sales and e-commerce. As a sales and marketing consultant for a solar company in Mombasa, Kenya it was my responsibility to implement marketing strategies combined with e-commerce to generate new business.
